Reading the spec sheet

The 2.0L 4-cylinder turbo with all-wheel drive is the powertrain to look at. The turbo gives a small engine the pull of a bigger one when you need it. All-wheel drive sends power to all four wheels, which helps on snow and wet roads; good tires still matter most.

For 300 km of mixed driving, expect about 28 litres, from its 9.3 L/100 km rating. For 1,000 km, budget about $144.20 at our price setting.

What the Q3 is like

The higher seat of a compact SUV gives a good view of the road in traffic. Its 481 litres of luggage space fit a family's bags for a long weekend.

Best uses

It suits a weekend away when the train does not reach where you are going. It suits visitors who want a familiar car for a week in town.

Can I rent it?

Put this car and your dates in a request, and we reply with an offer. Meanwhile, 6 similar cars are listed below. None in our fleet right now; ask and we look for one for your dates. We hand every car over in person, at your address or at our location.

What we need from you

The minimum age is 18, and the licence must be an Ontario G2 or G, valid for the whole trip. Young drivers are welcome: a daily fee applies under 26. The card must be in the driver's name, and we check it with the licence in person.

For damage to the car itself, have your own policy (OPCF 27), a credit card with rental car coverage, or add the CarmaCars Protection Plan. A deposit is held for every rental, about 1 hour before you get the car. Licence and identity checks happen before the booking is confirmed.

The booking steps

Pick the car and the dates that suit you, then send a request. There is no payment at that point. Then we send an offer. The offer shows the price before 13% HST and the deposit. Approve the offer to book the car. That is the moment you pay, not before.

The photos on a car's page are of that car. From 7 days, the weekly rate applies; up to 365 days, a trip never costs more than the monthly rate. Pickups need at least 2 hours of notice from the time you send the request.
