Arranging the work for the Forward Control
Your 1985 GMC Forward Control needs a tow? We do not do mechanical work, but we arrange it and rent you a car meanwhile. Tell us where the car is, where it should go, and whether the keys are with it.
Your Forward Control and the shop
Bring the owner's manual or service records if you have them. The shop sets its own price and time after it sees the car. A photo of the dashboard warning light helps the shop prepare.
What CarmaCars does here
We tell you plainly if we do not know a shop for the job. We follow up until the shop has the car booked in. You agree everything with the shop before work begins.
No car? Rent one meanwhile
The rental is priced like any other on our site. Keep moving with a rental while the shop has your car, by the day at our usual rates. The handover is in person, at your address or at our location.
Before the shop starts
Ask whether the quote includes both parts and labour. Ask whether the parts are new, rebuilt or used. Ask the shop to call you before doing anything not on the estimate.
Between shop visits
Switch to winter tires before the first snow, and back in spring. Follow the maintenance schedule in your owner's manual, by time or distance. Look at the tire tread before long trips.
Over to you
Need the work and a rental? One request covers both.
Request towing
Tell us when suits you. A person replies within one business day and arranges it with a trusted shop or recommends one; the shop sets its own price and time.
