About the 2021 Ford Explorer Timberline

If you need a rental car, the 2021 Ford Explorer Timberline is one option; this page explains the car and how booking works. You choose the car; a person confirms it and sends the price. Every car has its own page with its rates and calendar.

The Explorer and Basic

If you need it in Basic itself, send a request and we will tell you honestly whether we can help. We have no location in Basic; CarmaCars rents from Toronto, about 1,527 km away.

If you are near Basic, East Enterprise, Roy and West Enterprise are close too.

What the figures tell you

The 2.3L 4-cylinder turbo, paired with a 10-speed automatic, drives it. The turbo gives a small engine the pull of a bigger one when you need it. Four-wheel drive helps on rough ground and deep snow; on dry roads it behaves like any other vehicle.

For 300 km of mixed driving, expect about 34 litres, from its 11.4 L/100 km rating. At our price setting, 1,000 km costs about $176.70.

Living with the Explorer

An SUV body means more headroom and a taller cargo opening than a car of the same length.

When the Explorer makes sense

Families, skiers and anyone with bulky luggage. It suits a family trip where everyone and everything fits in one car.

What to bring

Ontario G2 or G licence holders aged 18 and up can request a car. Under 26? You can rent, with a daily young driver fee shown on the car's page. A credit card in your name is needed, except on cars marked "no credit card needed", which take debit.

Choose before pickup how damage to the car is handled: your policy with OPCF 27, your card's rental benefit, or the CarmaCars Protection Plan. The deposit is taken shortly before pickup, and the balance comes back after the return. Extra drivers are welcome; each one is checked and signs the agreement.

What happens when you ask for a car

You begin by requesting a car for your dates; the request is free. Then we send an offer. The offer shows the price before 13% HST and the deposit. You decide: approve and pay, or let it go. No charge either way until you approve.

Every car has its own daily, weekend, weekly and monthly rate. Rent for a day, a week or up to 365 days in one booking. Requests for later the same day work when there are at least 2 hours to spare.
