Turo alternative: the 1981 GMC Value Van
For a rental car, here is what the 1981 GMC Value Van brings, and how to request one. Every car has its own page with its rates and calendar. You choose the car; a person confirms it and sends the price.
Reading the spec sheet
The EPA does not rate this model year for fuel use; heavier trucks and vans are often not rated.
Best uses
It suits a family trip where everyone and everything fits in one car. It suits people curious about the model who want to drive it before they buy.
How big it is
Being a car, it is easy to park and comfortable on longer drives.
Renting the Value Van from CarmaCars
Your request can name this exact car; the offer confirms what we can give you. Meanwhile, 6 similar cars are listed below. None in our fleet right now; ask and we look for one for your dates. Delivery and pickup are both options across the Toronto area.
Before pickup
An Ontario G2 or G licence and an age of 18 or more are the starting point. Young drivers, under 26, can rent too, with a fee for each day. Your original licence, not a photo, comes with you to the handover.
If you have no auto policy and no card benefit, the CarmaCars Protection Plan is the third option, priced in your offer. A deposit is held before each rental; the amount is on the car's page. Each driver named on the booking signs the rental agreement.
Booking made plain
You begin by requesting a car for your dates; the request is free. We look at the request and send back an offer with the price for your exact dates. An offer is valid for 24 hours, and you pay only when you approve it.
The car pages show each car's rates, deposit and kilometres included. The longer the booking, the lower the rate a day tends to be. With 2 hours of notice or more, a same-day pickup can work when the car is free.
Ask us
Ask for the car, read the offer, approve it if it suits you.

Can I rent a 1981 GMC Value Van in Toronto?
Not from our fleet right now. Send a request for this exact car and we look for one for your dates. Meanwhile 6 similar cars are available below.
How old do I need to be to rent?
18 or older at pickup, with an Ontario G2 or G licence valid for the whole rental. Drivers aged 18 to 20 pay a young driver fee of $35 a day, and 21 to 25 pay $20 a day.
How much is the deposit?
Between $500 and $5,000, depending on the car. It is taken about 1 hour before pickup, never when you book, and the balance is released within 7 business days after you return the car.
What coverage do I need?
Third-party liability is included in the rate. For damage to the car itself, have your own policy (OPCF 27), a credit card with rental car coverage, or add the CarmaCars Protection Plan, priced in your offer by car and driver age. At $2,500 or more we claim on our fleet policy and you pay the $2,500 deductible.
Can the car be delivered?
Yes, anywhere, including Toronto Pearson International Airport and Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport. Delivery starts at $75 plus the distance from our location, priced in your offer. Collecting the car yourself is free.
