Turo alternative: the 2002 Mazda MX-5
If you need a rental car, the 2002 Mazda MX-5 is one option; this page explains the car and how booking works. Every car has its own page with its rates and calendar. You choose the car; a person confirms it and sends the price.
What the specs mean
No fuel-use rating is published for this model year, so we leave those figures out.
What the MX-5 is like
As a two-seat sports car, it puts the driving first and the luggage second.
A good match for
It suits anyone who needs a car for a few days, a week or a month without buying one. It suits a family trip where everyone and everything fits in one car.
Renting the MX-5 from CarmaCars
A request for your dates gets you an offer from a person. Similar cars are below if you need one sooner. None in our fleet right now; ask and we look for one for your dates. Delivery starts at $75 plus distance; collecting the car yourself is free.
Requesting a car
Send a request for the car and dates you have in mind. It is free and it commits you to nothing. We send the offer to your account and your email, with the total shown. Pay when you approve, not a minute before.
The car pages show each car's rates, deposit and kilometres included. Stay as long as you need: up to 365 days a booking, then renew. Book ahead if you can; 2 hours is the shortest notice we take.
What to have ready
Renters must be at least 18 and hold an Ontario G2 or G licence. From 26, no age fee applies; below it, a daily young driver fee does. You show your original licence and your card when we hand you the keys.
The CarmaCars Protection Plan is one of three options for damage to the car; the others are OPCF 27 on your policy or a card with rental car benefits. Deposits differ by car. Each car's page shows its amount. Name every driver in your request, and each is checked before pickup.
Questions first?
A request costs nothing, and the offer tells you everything.

Can I rent a 2002 Mazda MX-5 in Toronto?
Not from our fleet right now. Send a request for this exact car and we look for one for your dates. Meanwhile 7 similar cars are available below.
How old do I need to be to rent?
18 or older at pickup, with an Ontario G2 or G licence valid for the whole rental. Drivers aged 18 to 20 pay a young driver fee of $35 a day, and 21 to 25 pay $20 a day.
How much is the deposit?
Between $500 and $5,000, depending on the car. It is taken about 1 hour before pickup, never when you book, and the balance is released within 7 business days after you return the car.
What coverage do I need?
Third-party liability is included in the rate. For damage to the car itself, have your own policy (OPCF 27), a credit card with rental car coverage, or add the CarmaCars Protection Plan, priced in your offer by car and driver age. At $2,500 or more we claim on our fleet policy and you pay the $2,500 deductible.
Can the car be delivered?
Yes, anywhere, including Toronto Pearson International Airport and Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport. Delivery starts at $75 plus the distance from our location, priced in your offer. Collecting the car yourself is free.
