Renting the 2011 BMW Active E
For a van or a seven-seat car, the 2011 BMW Active E is one of many cars on CarmaCars, each with its own page. Seven seats or more take a whole group in one vehicle.
What the figures tell you
The electric motor with rear-wheel drive is the powertrain to look at. It is fully electric: no gas at all, and you return it with the charge it had at pickup. Rear-wheel drive gives balanced handling; in winter, the tires make the biggest difference.
It uses 20.5 kWh per 100 km, so 300 km takes about 62 kWh of charge. Rated range: 151 km. Winter and highway speeds bring it down. For 1,000 km, budget about $30.80 at our price setting.
When the Active E makes sense
It suits people who want to try an electric car before buying one. It suits anyone who needs a car for a few days, a week or a month without buying one.
Living with the Active E
As a small car, it has a closed trunk that keeps luggage out of sight. In plain terms, its 170 litres of luggage space hold about a large suitcase and a couple of soft bags.
Renting it
Your request can name this exact car; the offer confirms what we can give you. There is no exact match in our fleet today. Request it and we search for one, or take a similar car. Similar cars are listed below if you need one now. Delivery covers the Toronto area, priced by distance in your offer; pickup from us is free.
Licence, age and card
We need every driver to be at least 18, with an Ontario G2 or G licence. Drivers under 26 can rent with a young driver fee each day. You show your original licence and your card when we hand you the keys.
Before the keys change hands, one of three options must be in place for the car: OPCF 27, a card benefit, or the CarmaCars Protection Plan. We take the deposit shortly before pickup and return it after the car comes back. The checks are the same for everyone: licence, identity and the agreement.
Booking with CarmaCars
All you send at first is a request with the car and the dates, and it is free. Back comes an offer you can read at your own pace, with every charge on it. If the offer works for you, approve and pay to confirm. If not, you owe nothing.
You can see every car's calendar and rates before you send anything. Book by the week from 7 days, or by the month up to 365 days. We need at least 2 hours of notice before a pickup.
