Van rental: the 2020 Ford Escape SE

Want to know if the 2020 Ford Escape SE suits a van or a seven-seat car? Read on. Seven seats or more take a whole group in one vehicle.

A note on Java

We have no location in Java; CarmaCars rents from Toronto, about 1,639 km away. If you are starting from Toronto, rent the car here and drive it to Java.

Neighbouring areas include Selby, Lowry and Sitka.

What the figures tell you

Its 1.5L 3-cylinder turbo drives through an 8-speed automatic. The turbo gives a small engine the pull of a bigger one when you need it. With front-wheel drive, the weight of the engine sits over the driven wheels, which helps in winter.

Fuel use is rated 7.8 L/100 km combined, so 300 km needs about 23 litres. The fuel for 100 km comes to about $12.09 at our price setting.

Room inside

As a compact SUV, it sits higher than a sedan, which makes getting in and loading easier.

A good match for

Families, skiers and anyone with bulky luggage. It suits a stretch between cars, by the week or the month.

Renting this car

If you want this one, say so in the request; we confirm before you pay. We have none on the site right now. Send a request for this exact car and we look for one for your dates. Similar cars are listed below if you need one now.

Before pickup

Drivers need to be 18 or over, holding an Ontario G2 or G licence for the whole rental. If any driver is under 26, a young driver fee is added for each day. The payment card and the licence must match the driver's name.

Before pickup, choose how damage to the car is handled: your auto policy (OPCF 27), your credit card's rental benefit, or the CarmaCars Protection Plan. Each car's deposit is listed on its page, so you know it before you ask. We confirm each driver's licence and identity the same way.

Your booking, in three steps

To get started, send a request for the car and dates. You are not charged for it. You get an offer that says exactly what the rental costs before tax. If you approve, you pay and the car is yours for those dates.

The car pages show each car's rates, deposit and kilometres included. From 7 days, the weekly rate applies; up to 365 days, a trip never costs more than the monthly rate. A request can be for today, as long as the pickup is at least 2 hours away.
