Van rental and the Mazda MX-5
Here is the Mazda MX-5 from the angle of someone searching for van rental. Seven seats or more take a whole group in one vehicle.
Reading the spec sheet
No fuel-use rating is published for this model year, so we leave those figures out.
Who the MX-5 suits
It suits someone whose own car is in the shop for a while. It suits a stretch between cars, by the week or the month.
Practical details
As a two-seat sports car, it puts the driving first and the luggage second. The one in our fleet seats 2.
Our MX-5 cars
Ask for your dates, and we reply with what we can offer. 1 of our cars match this page. Each one shows its rates and its calendar. Delivery is priced by distance in your offer, and pickup from us is free.
The steps
Requests come first at CarmaCars. You name the car and the dates, and we take it from there. A real person reviews your request and sends an offer with the price spelled out. Only an approved, paid offer books the car.
Compare cars side by side by opening their pages. Stay as long as you need: up to 365 days a booking, then renew. Plan for at least 2 hours between sending the request and picking up the car.
What to bring
An Ontario G2 or G licence and an age of 18 or more are the starting point. Drivers below 26 pay a fee each day of the rental, and older drivers pay none. A card in the driver's own name is required at the handover.
If your own policy has OPCF 27 or your card covers rental cars, use that; otherwise add the CarmaCars Protection Plan. We hold the deposit shortly before pickup and release it after the return. Each renter is checked the same way, before the booking is confirmed.

Van rental: the Mazda MX-5
Can I rent a Mazda MX-5 in Toronto?
Yes. We have one on the site now, each with its own calendar and price. Choose your dates on the car's page and send a request; nothing is charged until we confirm and you approve.
How old do I need to be to rent?
18 or older at pickup, with an Ontario G2 or G licence valid for the whole rental. Drivers aged 18 to 20 pay a young driver fee of $35 a day, and 21 to 25 pay $20 a day.
How much is the deposit?
Between $500 and $5,000, depending on the car. It is taken about 1 hour before pickup, never when you book, and the balance is released within 7 business days after you return the car.
What coverage do I need?
Third-party liability is included in the rate. For damage to the car itself, have your own policy (OPCF 27), a credit card with rental car coverage, or add the CarmaCars Protection Plan, priced in your offer by car and driver age. At $2,500 or more we claim on our fleet policy and you pay the $2,500 deductible.
Can the car be delivered?
Yes, anywhere, including Toronto Pearson International Airport and Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport. Delivery starts at $0 plus the distance from our location, priced in your offer. Collecting the car yourself is free.
