If the car cannot be driven, say so, and we arrange the next step with the shop. We tell you plainly when we do not know a shop for the job.

What to ask

Ask what warranty the shop gives on its parts and labour. If a warning light was the reason, ask what the code was and what fixed it. If you want to see the old parts, ask for them back. Ask whether the estimate includes tax and shop supplies.

Good habits for your car

Have the cabin air filter changed on the maker's schedule. Keep a record of every service; it helps the shop and adds value when you sell. Switch to winter tires before the first snow, and back in spring.
