Safety Certificate in Ruby, AK

Getting it done

CarmaCars arranges mechanical work through shops around Toronto and does not do the work itself; Ruby is about 5,081 km away. What this is: A Safety Standards Certificate, needed in Ontario to register a used car you buy, issued by a licensed Motor Vehicle Inspection Station we arrange, not by CarmaCars. A used car you buy in Ontario needs a Safety Standards Certificate before it can be plated.

How we help

Let us know where the car is and whether it is safe to drive. Send a request with the car and what it needs. A person replies and arranges it with a trusted shop or recommends one. Tell us what you notice: the noise, the light on the dash, or the job you want done. Your request reaches a person, not a machine.

Small things that help

Have the battery tested before winter if it is more than a few years old. Have the cabin air filter changed on the maker's schedule. Listen for new noises and mention them to the shop with as much detail as you can.

What to ask

Keep the invoice; it is part of the car's service history. Ask whether the parts are new, rebuilt or used. Ask the shop to explain the repair in plain words before you agree. Ask if the shop needs the car for a full day or only a few hours.
