Buying a car in Nemo

If you are looking for financing for a car, the honest answer first: CarmaCars does not offer it, but a rental can help along the way. Banks and credit unions arrange car loans; CarmaCars does not, but we can rent you a car while you sort one out. If credit is the obstacle, a monthly rental is one way to have a car while you sort it out; renting is not a loan, so there is no credit check.

Try it for a week first

Testing the car for a week shows how it handles your parking, your passengers and your bags. A week of your own driving tells you more than twenty minutes with a salesperson: the commute, the parking, the fuel. You can rent for a week, or up to 365 days, and nothing is charged until we confirm and you approve.

Before you sign

Ask whether the car has been in an accident and how it was repaired. Check the tires and brakes: replacing them adds to the real price. Have a mechanic inspect a used car before you buy it, at a shop you choose. Check open recalls with Transport Canada or the maker, using the VIN.

While you shop

Rent the kind of car you plan to buy while you shop for it. Sold your car already? Rent by the week while you shop for the next one. Waiting for a car on order? A monthly rental covers the wait, up to 365 days a booking.
