Buying a car in Stratton

CarmaCars rents cars in the Toronto area. We are not a dealership, and we do not arrange loans or leases. We are not a lender and do not arrange loans. A monthly rental can bridge the time while you arrange one with your bank. Banks and credit unions arrange car loans; CarmaCars does not, but we can rent you a car while you sort one out.

Rent it before you buy it

Try the car on a highway drive, a grocery run and a tight parking spot before you sign. If you are torn between two models, rent one, then the other. Try the car with the people who will ride in it most.

Questions to ask

Check open recalls with Transport Canada or the maker, using the VIN. Look at real fuel use for the model, not only the advertised figure. Have a mechanic inspect a used car before you buy it, at a shop you choose. For a used car, ask for the vehicle's service records and look up its recall history by the VIN.

A car meanwhile

Use a rental to try a different kind of car before you commit to one. Between selling and buying, a weekly rental keeps the commute normal. Weekly and monthly rates make a rental a sensible bridge between cars.

Before you plan
