Shopping for a car in Summit

CarmaCars does not sell cars or arrange loans; we rent cars, which helps when you are deciding. Banks and credit unions arrange car loans; CarmaCars does not, but we can rent you a car while you sort one out. We do not check credit for loans or lend money; renting needs a licence, an identity check and a card.

Why rent first

Renting first means you buy knowing the car, not guessing. A rental shows you the small things: the seat after an hour, the blind spots, the trunk with your stroller in it. Take the car home, load it with your things, park it where you park, and then decide.

Buying smart in Ontario

Check the tires and brakes: replacing them adds to the real price. In Ontario, a private seller must give the buyer a Used Vehicle Information Package. Look for rust under the doors and around the wheel arches. For a used car, ask for the vehicle's service records and look up its recall history by the VIN.

Between cars

Waiting for a car on order? A monthly rental covers the wait, up to 365 days a booking. Use a rental to try a different kind of car before you commit to one. A rental means you never have to rush a purchase because you need wheels.

Renting from Toronto

Everything CarmaCars does starts from Toronto, and we have no presence in Summit. By straight line Summit is about 1,676 km from central Toronto; by road it is farther, and beyond our 80 km delivery area.

If you move to the Toronto area, renting the car you want to buy is easy. For buying in Summit, local dealers and private sellers are where to look. Still have a question about Summit? Ask in a request, and we answer plainly. Prices here are in Canadian dollars, not US dollars.
