Car Financing: what CarmaCars does
To be upfront: CarmaCars is a rental company and does not sell cars or arrange loans. We do not check credit for loans or lend money; renting needs a licence, an identity check and a card. If credit is the obstacle, a monthly rental is one way to have a car while you sort it out; renting is not a loan, so there is no credit check.
Why rent first
A rental lets you judge fuel use for yourself, on your own routes. Rent for a weekend to answer the big question: is this the right car? A few days with the car answers whether the seats, the space and the fuel use suit you.
Before you sign
Check open recalls with Transport Canada or the maker, using the VIN. Drive the car on the roads you use every day, at the times you usually drive. Have a mechanic inspect a used car before you buy it, at a shop you choose. For a used car, ask for the vehicle's service records and look up its recall history by the VIN.
Between cars
Rent by the week while you compare, and stop the day your next car arrives. Need a car while a dealer prepares yours? Rent one by the week. Renting while you shop lets you compare cars without pressure.
