The 2021 Toyota Corolla L for buyers

We are a rental company, not a dealer, so there is no 2021 Toyota Corolla L for sale by us right now. Before you buy the 2021 Toyota Corolla L, here is what the figures say and what to look at.

    Recalls and complaints

Ask for the service records and check open recalls by the VIN. In Ontario, a used car needs a Safety Standards Certificate to be registered. Owners filed 187 complaints with NHTSA, most often about air bags, engine and unknown or other; have those parts checked. Check whether every recall was done, by the VIN, before you pay.

    The figures, translated

The powertrain here is the 2.0L 4-cylinder with front-wheel drive and a 10-speed automatic. It runs on regular gas. With front-wheel drive, the weight of the engine sits over the driven wheels, which helps in winter.

Its combined rating is 6.6 L/100 km, which means roughly 20 litres for 300 km. A 300 km round trip costs roughly $30.69 at our price setting. At US fuel prices, the EPA estimates US$1,900 a year for 15,000 miles.

Is it right for your trip?

It suits visitors who want a familiar car for a week in town. It suits a family trip where everyone and everything fits in one car.

    Practical details

Being a compact car, it is easy to park and comfortable on longer drives. The EPA lists 510 litres for luggage, roughly a family's bags for a long weekend.

    Try before you buy

Rent the Corolla for a week, or up to 365 days, before you commit to buying one. Load it with your things and park it where you park; then decide. If it is in our fleet, rent it; if not, a similar car gives you a feel for the class.

    Which one to look for

Set a budget that includes tax, licensing, insurance and the first set of tires. Look at a few listings of the same year and trim to get a feel for fair prices. Ask the seller which trim it is; badges can be swapped and options vary.

    The cost of driving it

At our price setting, 100 km costs about $10.23 in fuel. A 1,000 km month costs roughly $102.30 at our price setting. Get an insurance quote for this exact model before you buy; rates differ a lot between models.

    The Corolla and Farmbrook

We rent from Toronto only. If your trip to Farmbrook starts in the Toronto area, rent the car here. CarmaCars is based in Toronto, about 544 km from Farmbrook, and does not deliver there.
