Thinking of buying the 2021 Toyota Corolla LE?

We are a rental company, not a dealer, so there is no 2021 Toyota Corolla LE for sale by us right now. This page sets out the 2021 Toyota Corolla LE for buyers, in plain words.

    Recalls and complaints

Have a mechanic inspect a used one before you buy it. In Ontario, a used car needs a Safety Standards Certificate to be registered. Look at the tires, brakes and battery; they are costly to replace. Ask for the service records and check open recalls by the VIN.

    Under the hood

The 2.0L 4-cylinder, paired with a 10-speed automatic, drives it. It runs on regular gas. With front-wheel drive, the weight of the engine sits over the driven wheels, which helps in winter.

Combined fuel use is 6.6 L/100 km: about 20 litres for 300 km. A 300 km weekend costs about $30.69 in energy at our price setting. At US fuel prices, the EPA estimates US$1,900 a year for 15,000 miles.

    Living with the Corolla

Its car body is low and settled, with a separate trunk. For luggage, 510 litres means a family's bags for a long weekend.

    A good match for

It suits someone whose own car is in the shop for a while. It suits a stretch between cars, by the week or the month.

    Try before you buy

Renting first costs a fraction of the price of buying the wrong car. Rent the Corolla for a week and see how it fits your life. Nothing is charged until we confirm the rental and you approve the offer.

    What it costs to run

Get an insurance quote for this exact model before you buy; rates differ a lot between models. At our price setting, 100 km costs about $10.23 in fuel. Ask what a set of tires costs for this trim; sizes and prices vary.

    Choosing the right one

Compare the LE with the other trims of the same year before you decide. A newer year is not always better; check what changed before paying more for it. If two trims share a powertrain, the difference is equipment, which you can check in person.

    A note on Java

We have no location in Java; CarmaCars rents from Toronto, about 1,474 km away. We rent from Toronto only. If your trip to Java starts in the Toronto area, rent the car here.
