If your trip starts in the Toronto area, we can have a car ready for the drive. Crossing the border with a rental from us needs our written consent before the trip. If you want to check something for Ames, send a request; a person replies honestly. Rates are shown in Canadian dollars.

Why CarmaCars

Whatever the reason for the rental, the steps are the same. Every car is a real listing with its own rates, so you compare before you ask. Requests are read in order and answered by a person. Your bookings, receipts and agreements are in your account.

Checking your details

Drivers need to be 18 or over, holding an Ontario G2 or G licence for the whole rental. Age fees stop at 26: younger drivers pay a daily young driver fee. Payment is by a card in your name, shown with your licence at pickup.

If you have no auto policy and no card benefit, the CarmaCars Protection Plan is the third option, priced in your offer. Each car shows its deposit, and we take it about 1 hour before pickup. The checks are the same for everyone: licence, identity and the agreement.

What happens when you ask for a car

You start by asking: a car, a start time, an end time. Asking is free. The offer we send lists the car we confirm and the full price. Your card is charged only when you approve the offer.

The car pages show each car's rates, deposit and kilometres included. The longer the booking, the lower the rate a day tends to be. Pickups need at least 2 hours of notice from the time you send the request.
