Common reasons to rent

Anyone who needs a car for a few days without owning one. Visitors, locals between cars, families on a trip and people who need a second car for a while.

The useful parts

After a collision, your insurer may pay for the rental when your adjuster approves it. Otherwise the car's own rate applies. If the claim is not approved, the car's usual rate applies, shown on its page. Rates are before 13% HST, and the offer shows the tax too. If the car you want is taken, we suggest the closest match we have.

Who qualifies

An Ontario G2 or G licence and an age of 18 or more: that is where it starts. Under 26, a young driver fee applies for each day of the rental. The payment card and the licence must match the driver's name.

Three options cover damage to the car: OPCF 27 on your auto policy, a credit card with rental car benefits, or the CarmaCars Protection Plan. The deposit is released after the return, once the car is checked. Extra drivers are welcome; each one is checked and signs the agreement.

Booking in plain terms

Send the request with your dates first; no money changes hands at that stage. A person checks the request and sends you an offer with the full price. The car is yours for those dates once you approve and pay the offer.

Each car has its own page with its photos, its rates and its calendar. The longer the booking, the lower the rate a day tends to be. Short notice is fine: 2 hours is the minimum before a pickup.

One more step

Request a car, read the offer, and decide. That is the whole process.
