What to know about the 2016 Lexus RX

Here is the 2016 Lexus RX, with its figures explained in plain words.

What the specs mean

The engine is the 3.5L 6-cylinder hybrid, with front-wheel drive and an automatic (CVT). As a hybrid, it does best in stop-and-go traffic, where the electric motor does more of the work. Front-wheel drive is the usual layout for cars this size, predictable in the rain and the snow. A continuously variable automatic keeps the engine in its most efficient range.

The combined figure, 7.8 L/100 km, means roughly 23 litres for 300 km. In the city it is rated at 7.6 L/100 km, and on the highway 7.9. A weekend of 300 km comes to about $36.27 at our price setting.

Space, size and seats

It offers the space of an SUV with the height that makes loading easy.

Road trips

Each car shows the kilometres included each day and the rate for extra ones. Return the car with the fuel it had at pickup, or a fee applies. Plan longer trips against the kilometres included each day.

Who it is for

It suits anyone who needs a car for a few days, a week or a month without buying one. It suits client visits, weddings and special weekends. It suits stop-and-go driving and rideshare or delivery work.

Getting this car from us

Ask for your dates, and we reply with what we can offer. None in our fleet right now; ask and we look for one for your dates. Meanwhile, 6 similar cars are listed below. Your offer shows the delivery fee if you want the car brought to you.

How it works

To book, you request the car for your dates. There is no charge to send it and no obligation. The offer comes from a person, not a robot, and it carries the full price. When you approve the offer and pay, the car is booked for you.

The photos on a car's page are of that car. From 7 days, the weekly rate applies; up to 365 days, a trip never costs more than the monthly rate. A request can be for today, as long as the pickup is at least 2 hours away.

What we need from you

At pickup you must be 18 or older and carry your original G2 or G licence. If any driver is under 26, a young driver fee is added for each day. Cars marked "no credit card needed" accept a debit card in your name; the others need a credit card.

Every rate includes third-party liability. The car itself needs one of three options: OPCF 27, a card benefit, or the CarmaCars Protection Plan. Your deposit is held for the rental and released after the car comes back and is checked. Before confirming, we verify the licence and identity of each driver.
