Renting for Java

CarmaCars is based in Toronto, about 1,639 km from Java, and does not deliver there. If you need it in Java itself, send a request and we will tell you honestly whether we can help.

Selby, Lowry and Sitka are the closest places to Java on our list.

About the colour

Tell us if silver is a must or a preference, and we look accordingly. The colour is part of what we confirm in the offer. A silver car can be requested, but never promised before we confirm.

Reading the spec sheet

The powertrain to know here is the 2.5L 4-cylinder, with all-wheel drive. It runs on regular gas. All-wheel drive sends power to all four wheels, which helps on snow and wet roads; good tires still matter most.

By the EPA's combined rating of 8.2 L/100 km, 300 km takes about 25 litres. A weekend of 300 km comes to about $38.13 at our price setting.

Good uses for the Forester

It suits anyone who needs a car for a few days, a week or a month without buying one. It suits a work trip where a reliable car matters more than anything else.

Space and size

It offers the space of an SUV with the height that makes loading easy.

Request, offer, keys

Requests come first at CarmaCars. You name the car and the dates, and we take it from there. A real person reviews your request and sends an offer with the price spelled out. Offers stay open for 24 hours. Approve one and pay to book the car.

Every car lists its own deposit and the kilometres included each day. Stay as long as you need: up to 365 days a booking, then renew. The shortest notice we accept before a pickup is 2 hours.

The rules, briefly

Drivers from 18 up, with an Ontario G2 or G licence, are welcome. Each day of the rental carries a young driver fee if a driver is under 26. Cars marked "no credit card needed" accept a debit card in your name; the others need a credit card.

Third-party liability is in the rate; for the car, bring OPCF 27, use your card's benefit, or add the CarmaCars Protection Plan. The deposit is separate from the rental price and is returned after the rental. Licence and identity checks happen before the booking is confirmed.
