It is powered by the electric motor, with all-wheel drive. Being electric, it is quiet and quick from a stop, and it charges at home, at work or at public chargers. All-wheel drive sends power to all four wheels, which helps on snow and wet roads; good tires still matter most.

Renting: the basics

Drivers from 18 up, with an Ontario G2 or G licence, are welcome. Drivers below 26 pay a fee each day of the rental, and older drivers pay none. Debit works on cars marked "no credit card needed"; the others take a credit card.

Before the keys change hands, one of three options must be in place for the car: OPCF 27, a card benefit, or the CarmaCars Protection Plan. Deposits differ by car. Each car's page shows its amount. Every renter goes through the same check of licence and identity before the car is confirmed.

The steps

Choose a car, set the pickup and return times, and send the request. You pay nothing to ask. We check the calendar and your details, then send you an offer with the total. Payment happens only after you accept the offer.

The calendar on each car's page helps you pick dates that work. Weekly pricing starts at 7 days, and a trip never costs more than that rate for a week. Requests need at least 2 hours of notice before the pickup time.
