A note on Eldon

Engine and fuel

It runs the electric motor, with all-wheel drive. Being electric, it is quiet and quick from a stop, and it charges at home, at work or at public chargers. All-wheel drive sends power to all four wheels, which helps on snow and wet roads; good tires still matter most.

For every 100 km it uses about 18.6 kWh. On paper it goes 507 km between charges, less in winter. That works out to about $2.79 per 100 km at our price setting.

Practical details

Its car body is low and settled, with a separate trunk. The trunk holds 425 litres by the EPA's count: a family's bags for a long weekend.

Who it is for

It suits client visits, weddings and special weekends. It suits commuters, couples and business trips.

Can you rent one?

If you want this one, say so in the request; we confirm before you pay. Similar cars are below if you need one sooner. We have none on the site right now. Send a request for this exact car and we look for one for your dates.

Booking with CarmaCars

Pick your car, enter your dates and send the request. That is all you do at first, and it is free. If the car is free, you get an offer with the full price; if not, we suggest another car. Only an approved, paid offer books the car.

A car's page shows the deposit and the kilometres included each day. Weekly pricing starts at 7 days, and a trip never costs more than that rate for a week. Short notice is fine: 2 hours is the minimum before a pickup.

What we check

You must be 18 or older and hold a valid Ontario G2 or G licence. Young drivers, under 26, can rent too, with a fee for each day. We need to see the card and the licence of the person renting.

You need one of three things in place for damage to the car: OPCF 27 on your own policy, a credit card that covers rentals, or the CarmaCars Protection Plan. The deposit comes about 1 hour before you get the car, not at booking. Name every driver in your request, and each is checked before pickup.
