Engine and fuel

The electric motor does the work, through a 1-speed automatic. Being electric, it is quiet and quick from a stop, and it charges at home, at work or at public chargers. All-wheel drive sends power to all four wheels, which helps on snow and wet roads; good tires still matter most.

Its rating is 18.6 kWh/100 km: about 56 kWh for 300 km. Its rated range is 507 km on a full charge; real range drops in cold weather and at highway speeds. A 300 km weekend costs about $8.37 in energy at our price setting.

What the Model 3 is like

As a mid-size car, it has a closed trunk that keeps luggage out of sight. Its 425 litres of luggage space fit a family's bags for a long weekend.

Good uses for the Model 3

It suits a stretch of weeks between selling one car and buying the next. It suits a weekend away when the train does not reach where you are going.

Getting one from us

There is no exact match in our fleet today. Request it and we search for one, or take a similar car. Your request can name this exact car; the offer confirms what we can give you. Similar cars are listed below if you need one now.

What we need from you

An Ontario G2 or G licence and an age of 18 or more are the starting point. Under 26? You can rent, with a daily young driver fee shown on the car's page. At pickup, have your original licence and the payment card ready.

Third-party liability is included in the rate. For damage to the car, you choose one of three options before pickup. Your deposit is held for the rental and released after the car comes back and is checked. Every renter goes through the same check of licence and identity before the car is confirmed.

How to book

Pick your car, enter your dates and send the request. That is all you do at first, and it is free. Back comes an offer you can read at your own pace, with every charge on it. An offer is valid for 24 hours, and you pay only when you approve it.

Prices on each car's page are before tax, and the offer adds the tax. Trips of 7 days or more use the weekly rate, and shorter trips never cost more than it. Leave at least 2 hours between your request and the pickup.
