A note on Mapleton

Mapleton is about 1,144 km from our Toronto location, beyond the area we deliver to. If you are starting from Toronto, rent the car here and drive it to Mapleton.

Places around Mapleton include Gowland Mountain, Pleasant Vale and Meadow.

Under the hood

Power: the 2.0L 4-cylinder turbo hybrid; drive: all-wheel drive. It is a hybrid: the battery charges itself as you drive and brake, so there is nothing to plug in. All-wheel drive helps when pulling away on snow; braking and steering still depend on the tires.

For 300 km of mixed driving, expect about 25 litres, from its 8.3 L/100 km rating. Driving 300 km costs roughly $38.61 at our price setting.

Space, size and seats

A car body like this keeps the weight low, so it feels settled on the highway. Its 340 litres of luggage space fit about two large suitcases and a few soft bags.

Is it right for your trip?

It suits a work trip where a reliable car matters more than anything else. Its all-wheel drive suits winter roads and trips to ski country.

Renting it

Similar cars are below if you need one sooner. There is no exact match in our fleet today. Request it and we search for one, or take a similar car. Want a car for specific dates? Put them in the request and we check.

The rules, briefly

The minimum age is 18, and the licence must be an Ontario G2 or G, valid for the whole trip. Young drivers, under 26, can rent too, with a fee for each day. At the handover we check your licence and the card in your name.

If your own policy has OPCF 27 or your card covers rental cars, use that; otherwise add the CarmaCars Protection Plan. The deposit is released after the return, once the car is checked. Before confirming, we verify the licence and identity of each driver.

The steps

First you send a request with the car and the times. No card is charged for it. Then we send an offer. The offer shows the price before 13% HST and the deposit. Offers stay open for 24 hours. Approve one and pay to book the car.

Every car has its own daily, weekend, weekly and monthly rate. From 7 days, the weekly rate takes over. Last-minute plans are fine with at least 2 hours of notice.
