Specs, explained

Its 1.6L 4-cylinder drives through an automatic (CVT). It runs on regular gas. With front-wheel drive, the weight of the engine sits over the driven wheels, which helps in winter.

It is rated at 7.2 L/100 km combined; 300 km takes about 22 litres. Driving 300 km costs roughly $33.48 at our price setting.

A good match for

It suits commuters, couples and business trips. It suits a stretch of weeks between selling one car and buying the next.

The Kicks in everyday use

Its car body is low and settled, with a separate trunk. The EPA lists 708 litres for luggage, roughly bulky luggage, a stroller or sports gear.

Before pickup

Every driver needs an Ontario G2 or G licence and must be 18 or older. Drivers under 26 pay a young driver fee for each day, shown on each car's page. Payment is by a card in your name, shown with your licence at pickup.

Damage to the car is handled one of three ways: OPCF 27 on your policy, a credit card's rental car benefit, or the CarmaCars Protection Plan. Deposits differ by car. Each car's page shows its amount. Each driver named on the booking signs the rental agreement.

Your request, our offer, your keys

Pick your car, enter your dates and send the request. That is all you do at first, and it is free. You receive an offer with the price, the deposit and what is included. If the offer works for you, approve and pay to confirm. If not, you owe nothing.

The calendar on each car's page helps you pick dates that work. Stay as long as you need: up to 365 days a booking, then renew. Pickups need at least 2 hours of notice from the time you send the request.

When you know your dates

Choose a car above and send a request. A person replies with an offer, and you pay only if you approve it.
