What the specs mean

Under the hood: the electric motor and all-wheel drive. It is fully electric: no gas at all, and you return it with the charge it had at pickup. With all-wheel drive, it pulls away more surely on slippery roads, though it does not stop any shorter.

It uses 18.6 kWh per 100 km, so 300 km takes about 56 kWh of charge. A full charge is rated for 507 km; plan for less in the cold. At our price setting, 1,000 km costs about $27.90.

Being a mid-size car, it is easy to park and comfortable on longer drives. For luggage, 425 litres means a family's bags for a long weekend.

Rules for renters

An Ontario G2 or G licence and an age of 18 or more are the starting point. The young driver fee covers drivers under 26; older drivers pay no age fee. Debit works on cars marked "no credit card needed"; the others take a credit card.

Third-party liability comes with every rate. For the car itself: your own policy with OPCF 27, a card that covers rentals, or the CarmaCars Protection Plan. The deposit is separate from the rental price and is returned after the rental. If another person will drive, add them; they go through the same check.

What to expect when you book

All you send at first is a request with the car and the dates, and it is free. The reply is an offer you can read in full before you decide anything. Payment happens only after you accept the offer.

Prices on each car's page are before tax, and the offer adds the tax. Rent for a day, a week or up to 365 days in one booking. Pickups need at least 2 hours of notice from the time you send the request.
