The figures, translated

The electric motor does the work, through a 1-speed automatic. It is fully electric: no gas at all, and you return it with the charge it had at pickup. All-wheel drive sends power to all four wheels, which helps on snow and wet roads; good tires still matter most.

It uses 18.6 kWh per 100 km, so 300 km takes about 56 kWh of charge. On paper it goes 507 km between charges, less in winter. At our price setting, 1,000 km costs about $27.90.

Living with the Model 3

Being a mid-size car, it is easy to park and comfortable on longer drives. The trunk holds 425 litres by the EPA's count: a family's bags for a long weekend.

Checking your details

At pickup you must be 18 or older and carry your original G2 or G licence. There is no upper age limit, and drivers under 26 pay a fee for each day. At pickup, have your original licence and the payment card ready.

Before the keys change hands, one of three options must be in place for the car: OPCF 27, a card benefit, or the CarmaCars Protection Plan. The deposit is taken about 1 hour before pickup, never when you book. Everyone who will drive signs the agreement after the licence check.

How a booking comes together

You choose a car and your dates online and send a request. Sending it costs nothing. We answer with a written offer: the car, the dates, the price and the deposit. Only an approved, paid offer books the car.

Each car shows its own extra kilometre rate, so nothing surprises you later. Bookings run from one day up to 365 days at a time. Give us 2 hours or more before the pickup and we can usually make it work.
