Reading the spec sheet

The powertrain to know here is the 2.3L 4-cylinder turbo, with four-wheel drive. It runs on regular gas. Four-wheel drive helps on rough ground and deep snow; on dry roads it behaves like any other vehicle.

Combined fuel use is 11.4 L/100 km: about 34 litres for 300 km. A weekend of 300 km comes to about $53.01 at our price setting.

Is it right for your trip?

It suits a family trip where everyone and everything fits in one car. It suits a stretch between cars, by the week or the month.

What the Explorer is like

Its SUV body gives a high seating position and an easy load height.

Getting one from us

Similar cars are listed below if you need one now. A request for your dates gets you an offer from a person. None in our fleet right now; ask and we look for one for your dates. We deliver across the Toronto area, or you collect the car from our location for free.

The rules, briefly

Drivers need to be 18 or over, holding an Ontario G2 or G licence for the whole rental. Young drivers, under 26, can rent too, with a fee for each day. Cars marked "no credit card needed" accept a debit card in your name; the others need a credit card.

Third-party liability is part of every rate, and damage to the car is handled by OPCF 27, a card benefit or the CarmaCars Protection Plan. A deposit applies to every rental. It is shown on the car's page and taken about 1 hour before pickup. Before confirming, we verify the licence and identity of each driver.

Getting the car booked

To get started, send a request for the car and dates. You are not charged for it. You then get an offer from us with the car, the dates and the total before tax. Approving the offer and paying it confirms the booking.

The car pages show each car's rates, deposit and kilometres included. A week or more is priced at the weekly rate, from 7 days. The minimum notice is 2 hours, so an afternoon pickup can be requested in the morning.
