Reading the spec sheet

The electric motor is what moves it, with all-wheel drive. It is fully electric: no gas at all, and you return it with the charge it had at pickup. All-wheel drive sends power to all four wheels, which helps on snow and wet roads; good tires still matter most.

It uses 18.6 kWh per 100 km, so 300 km takes about 56 kWh of charge. A full charge is rated for 507 km; plan for less in the cold. At our price setting, it costs about $2.79 to drive 100 km.

Size and space

Its car body is low and settled, with a separate trunk. EPA lists 425 litres of luggage space, enough for a family's bags for a long weekend.

Who the Model 3 suits

It suits a family trip where everyone and everything fits in one car. It suits a weekend away when the train does not reach where you are going.

Renting the Model 3 from CarmaCars

Ask for this exact car in your request, and we tell you what we can offer. We have none on the site right now. Send a request for this exact car and we look for one for your dates. Similar cars are listed below if you need one now. We deliver around Toronto; pickup at our location is free.

What we check

From age 18, with an Ontario G2 or G licence, you can send a request. Drivers under 26 pay a young driver fee for each day, shown on each car's page. We check that the card and the licence carry the same name.

Three options cover damage to the car: OPCF 27 on your auto policy, a credit card with rental car benefits, or the CarmaCars Protection Plan. A deposit is held for every rental, about 1 hour before you get the car. Additional drivers can be added; each one meets the same rules and signs the agreement.

How to book

You request the car online with your dates, and you pay nothing to send it. If the car is free, you get an offer with the full price; if not, we suggest another car. Offers stay open for 24 hours. Approve one and pay to book the car.

A car's page shows the deposit and the kilometres included each day. Book one day, one week, or up to 365 days at once. The minimum notice is 2 hours, so an afternoon pickup can be requested in the morning.
