Specs, explained

Its electric motor drives through a 1-speed automatic. Being electric, it is quiet and quick from a stop, and it charges at home, at work or at public chargers. All-wheel drive helps when pulling away on snow; braking and steering still depend on the tires.

It uses 18.6 kWh per 100 km, so 300 km takes about 56 kWh of charge. Its rated range is 507 km on a full charge; real range drops in cold weather and at highway speeds. In energy, every 100 km costs about $2.79 at our price setting.

What to expect from the Model 3

Its car body is low and settled, with a separate trunk. Luggage space is 425 litres, enough for a family's bags for a long weekend.

Is it right for your trip?

It suits a stretch of weeks between selling one car and buying the next. It suits people curious about the model who want to drive it before they buy.

Booking with CarmaCars

You begin by requesting a car for your dates; the request is free. A staff member reads the request and sends the offer. We reply within 2 hours. When you approve the offer and pay, the car is booked for you.

Each car page lists what is included and what costs extra. Need it longer than 365 days? Renew with a new agreement when the booking ends. The shortest notice we accept before a pickup is 2 hours.

Checking your details

Drivers 18 and older can rent with a valid Ontario G2 or G licence. We accept young drivers; those under 26 pay a daily fee. At the handover we check your licence and the card in your name.

If you have no auto policy and no card benefit, the CarmaCars Protection Plan is the third option, priced in your offer. We take the deposit shortly before pickup and return it after the car comes back. Each driver named on the booking signs the rental agreement.
