Java and the A4

Java is about 1,639 km from Toronto, outside our delivery area. If you need it in Java itself, send a request and we will tell you honestly whether we can help.

Also close to Java: Selby, Lowry and Sitka.

Engine and fuel

The 2.0L 4-cylinder turbo is what moves it, with front-wheel drive. It calls for premium gas, which costs more a litre than regular. Front-wheel drive is the usual layout for cars this size, predictable in the rain and the snow.

By the EPA's combined rating of 7.9 L/100 km, 300 km takes about 24 litres. In money, 1,000 km costs about $138.30 at our price setting.

Best uses

It suits a weekend away when the train does not reach where you are going. It suits a family trip where everyone and everything fits in one car.

Practical details

A car body like this keeps the weight low, so it feels settled on the highway. At 4.76 m long, it is on the long side. Check the size of a tight parking spot. At 368 litres, the trunk fits about two large suitcases and a few soft bags.

Rent this car

Driver requirements

If you are 18 or over and hold an Ontario G2 or G licence, you can rent. There is no upper age limit, and drivers under 26 pay a fee for each day. Bring the card in your name that paid for the booking.

Three options cover damage to the car: OPCF 27 on your auto policy, a credit card with rental car benefits, or the CarmaCars Protection Plan. We take the deposit shortly before pickup and return it after the car comes back. Everyone who will drive signs the agreement after the licence check.

How a booking comes together

Send the request with your dates first; no money changes hands at that stage. The reply is an offer you can read in full before you decide anything. The booking is confirmed when you approve the offer and pay it.

Every car on the site has a page of its own, with its calendar and its rates. For longer stays, each booking of up to 365 days renews with a new agreement. Give us 2 hours or more before the pickup and we can usually make it work.
