The 2020 Tesla Model Y Performance: Luup alternative

A note on Java

We have no location in Java; CarmaCars rents from Toronto, about 1,933 km away. If you are starting from Toronto, rent the car here and drive it to Java.

Around Java you will also find Maydelle, Mewshaw and Oakland.

What the specs mean

Its powertrain is the electric motor with all-wheel drive. It is fully electric: no gas at all, and you return it with the charge it had at pickup. All-wheel drive helps when pulling away on snow; braking and steering still depend on the tires.

Energy use is rated at 17.4 kWh/100 km, about 52 kWh for 300 km. Rated range: 507 km. Winter and highway speeds bring it down. In energy, every 100 km costs about $2.61 at our price setting.

Who rents the Model Y

It suits visitors who want a familiar car for a week in town. It suits a weekend away when the train does not reach where you are going.

Size and space

Its SUV body gives a high seating position and an easy load height.

Renting it

Similar cars are below if you need one sooner. Ask for this exact car in your request, and we tell you what we can offer. None in our fleet right now; ask and we look for one for your dates.

What to have ready

You need an Ontario G2 or G licence, valid for the whole rental, and to be 18 or older. There is no maximum age. Drivers under 26 pay a young driver fee each day. At pickup, have your original licence and the payment card ready.

You need one of three things in place for damage to the car: OPCF 27 on your own policy, a credit card that covers rentals, or the CarmaCars Protection Plan. There is a deposit for each rental, taken shortly before pickup rather than at booking. The checks are the same for everyone: licence, identity and the agreement.

From request to keys

Pick the car and the dates that suit you, then send a request. There is no payment at that point. Our reply is an offer that lists the rate, the kilometres included and any delivery fee. An offer is valid for 24 hours, and you pay only when you approve it.

You can see every car's calendar and rates before you send anything. Rent for a day, a week or up to 365 days in one booking. Requests need at least 2 hours of notice before the pickup time.
