Used Cars: what CarmaCars does

CarmaCars rents cars and does not sell, lend or lease, but renting first is a smart step before buying. A rental of the same model for a week shows how it fits your commute, your parking and your family. We are happy to point you in the right direction, and to rent you a similar car to try.

Try it for a week first

A week of your own driving tells you more than twenty minutes with a salesperson: the commute, the parking, the fuel. If we have the model in our fleet, its page shows the rates; if not, a similar car gives you a feel for the class. A rental lets you judge fuel use for yourself, on your own routes.

What to check before you buy

Ask whether the car has been in an accident and how it was repaired. Check open recalls with Transport Canada or the maker, using the VIN. Have a mechanic inspect a used car before you buy it, at a shop you choose. Confirm the ownership and that no money is still owed on the car.

Before your next car arrives

A rental means you never have to rush a purchase because you need wheels. Need a car while a dealer prepares yours? Rent one by the week. If the purchase falls through, you still have a car to drive.
