Getting to know the 1997 Cadillac DeVille
This page covers the 1997 Cadillac DeVille: what it ran on, what it used and which trims Canada got.
Under the hood
It runs the 4.6L 8-cylinder, with front-wheel drive. It calls for premium gas, which costs more a litre than regular. Front-wheel drive is the usual layout for cars this size, predictable in the rain and the snow. The automatic gearbox makes city traffic easy.
Fuel use is rated 13.1 L/100 km combined, so 300 km needs about 39 litres. It uses 15.7 L/100 km in the city and 9.8 on the highway, by its rating. Expect about $22.93 per 100 km at our price setting. We count premium at $1.75 a litre for the cost figures on this page.
Best uses
It suits a family trip where everyone and everything fits in one car. It suits anyone who needs a car for a few days, a week or a month without buying one. It suits commuters, couples and business trips.
Road trips
Each car shows the kilometres included each day and the rate for extra ones. Return the car with the fuel it had at pickup, or a fee applies. Trips outside Ontario need our written consent, agreed before you go.
What to expect from the DeVille
As a large sedan, it is easy to drive and park in the city. At 566 litres, the trunk fits bulky luggage, a stroller or sports gear.
Renting the DeVille from CarmaCars
If you want this one, say so in the request; we confirm before you pay. None in our fleet right now; ask and we look for one for your dates. Similar cars are listed below if you need one now. We meet you with the car at the time we confirm, at your address or ours.
What to have ready
Drivers need to be 18 or over, holding an Ontario G2 or G licence for the whole rental. If you are under 26, expect a young driver fee each day; there is no upper age limit. Cars marked "no credit card needed" accept a debit card in your name; the others need a credit card.
You pick how damage to the car is handled before pickup: OPCF 27, a credit card benefit, or the CarmaCars Protection Plan. The deposit is taken shortly before pickup, and the balance comes back after the return. A quick licence and identity check happens before we confirm any booking.
Your booking, in three steps
Requests come first at CarmaCars. You name the car and the dates, and we take it from there. Our reply is an offer that lists the rate, the kilometres included and any delivery fee. Payment happens only after you accept the offer.
Every car has its own daily, weekend, weekly and monthly rate. The monthly rate covers a booking of up to 365 days. Same-day requests are fine with at least 2 hours of notice, when the car is free.

Request a car, read the offer, and decide. That is the whole process.
