Getting to know the 2013 MINI Cooper
Here is the 2013 MINI Cooper: its powertrains, its fuel use and the trims sold in Canada.
The figures, translated
The 1.6L 4-cylinder with front-wheel drive is the powertrain to look at. It calls for premium gas, which costs more a litre than regular. With front-wheel drive, the weight of the engine sits over the driven wheels, which helps in winter. With a manual gearbox, you change gears yourself.
It is rated at 7.7 L/100 km combined; 300 km takes about 23 litres. In the city it is rated at 8.4 L/100 km, and on the highway 6.7. Per 100 km, plan on roughly $13.48. We count premium at $1.75 a litre for the cost figures on this page.
How big it is
Low and compact, it is a car for the drive more than the cargo. At 170 litres, the trunk fits about a large suitcase and a couple of soft bags.
How far it goes
Plan longer trips against the kilometres included each day. Return the car with the same fuel it had at pickup. Each car shows the kilometres included each day and the rate for extra ones.
Is it right for your trip?
It suits a work trip where a reliable car matters more than anything else. It suits a stretch of weeks between selling one car and buying the next. It suits a family trip where everyone and everything fits in one car.
Getting one from us
None in our fleet right now; ask and we look for one for your dates. Your request can name this exact car; the offer confirms what we can give you. Similar cars are listed below if you need one now. Delivery starts at $75 plus distance; collecting the car yourself is free.
How a booking comes together
First you send a request with the car and the times. No card is charged for it. Then we send an offer. The offer shows the price before 13% HST and the deposit. Approve the offer to book the car. That is the moment you pay, not before.
Rates are set car by car and shown on each car's page. A booking can be a single day or up to 365 days. With 2 hours of notice or more, a same-day pickup can work when the car is free.
Checking your details
Every driver needs an Ontario G2 or G licence and must be 18 or older. A young driver fee applies each day for drivers under 26. At the handover we check your licence and the card in your name.
Every rate includes liability to others. Damage to the car is covered by your choice: OPCF 27, your card's rental benefit, or the CarmaCars Protection Plan. Deposits differ by car. Each car's page shows its amount. Every renter goes through the same check of licence and identity before the car is confirmed.
