What the figures tell you

The electric motor with all-wheel drive is the powertrain to look at. Being electric, it is quiet and quick from a stop, and it charges at home, at work or at public chargers. With all-wheel drive, it pulls away more surely on slippery roads, though it does not stop any shorter.

Energy use is rated at 17.4 kWh/100 km, about 52 kWh for 300 km. Its rated range is 507 km on a full charge; real range drops in cold weather and at highway speeds. Driving 300 km costs roughly $7.83 at our price setting.

Space, size and seats

The higher seat of a compact SUV gives a good view of the road in traffic.

Good uses for the Model Y

It suits city driving and anyone with charging at home or work. It suits a family trip where everyone and everything fits in one car.

Rent it from us

Put this car and your dates in a request, and we reply with an offer. This exact car is not in our fleet at the moment; a request asks us to look for one. Similar cars are listed below if you need one now. The car can come to your door in the Toronto area, or you pick it up at no charge.

Request, offer, keys

Every booking starts as a request: the car, the dates and where you want it. Nothing is charged to send one. You then get an offer from us with the car, the dates and the total before tax. The booking is confirmed when you approve the offer and pay it.

Every car lists its own deposit and the kilometres included each day. The monthly rate covers a booking of up to 365 days. The minimum notice is 2 hours, so an afternoon pickup can be requested in the morning.

What we ask of drivers

An Ontario G2 or G licence and an age of 18 or more: that is where it starts. A young driver fee applies each day for drivers under 26. The name on the card has to match the name on the licence.

Liability to other people is included in every rate. For the car itself, pick your own policy (OPCF 27), a card with rental car benefits, or the CarmaCars Protection Plan. The deposit is released after the return, once the car is checked. Additional drivers can be added; each one meets the same rules and signs the agreement.

Ready when you are
