What to ask
Keep the invoice; it is part of the car's service history. Ask whether the quote includes both parts and labour. Ask what warranty the shop gives on its parts and labour.
Car care, briefly
Note the mileage when each service is done, so you know when the next is due. Follow the maintenance schedule in your owner's manual, by time or distance. Keep an emergency kit in the trunk in winter.
