Engine and fuel

The powertrain here is the 2.0L 4-cylinder turbo hybrid with all-wheel drive and a 7-speed automatic. As a hybrid, it does best in stop-and-go traffic, where the electric motor does more of the work. All-wheel drive helps when pulling away on snow; braking and steering still depend on the tires.

For 300 km of mixed driving, expect about 25 litres, from its 8.3 L/100 km rating. A 300 km round trip costs roughly $38.61 at our price setting.

What the A4 is like

As a compact car, it is easy to drive and park in the city. EPA lists 340 litres of luggage space, enough for about two large suitcases and a few soft bags.

Who it is for

It suits a weekend away when the train does not reach where you are going. It suits a stretch between cars, by the week or the month.

Renting the A4 from CarmaCars

Meanwhile, 6 similar cars are listed below. A request for your dates gets you an offer from a person. None in our fleet right now; ask and we look for one for your dates. Pick it up from us for free, or have it brought to you.

From request to keys

Start with a request. Choose the car, the pickup time and the return time, and send it without paying anything. We look at the request and send back an offer with the price for your exact dates. Your card is charged only when you approve the offer.

The calendar on each car's page helps you pick dates that work. Stay as long as you need: up to 365 days a booking, then renew. The shortest notice we accept before a pickup is 2 hours.

What we need from you

Renters must be at least 18 and hold an Ontario G2 or G licence. Young drivers, under 26, can rent too, with a fee for each day. At pickup, have your original licence and the payment card ready.

If your own policy has OPCF 27 or your card covers rental cars, use that; otherwise add the CarmaCars Protection Plan. We hold the deposit shortly before pickup and release it after the return. Each extra driver is checked the same way and signs the rental agreement.

Your move

Ready? Request the car. If you change your mind before approving the offer, nothing is charged.
