Mechanic in Pointers

Mechanic in Pointers: CarmaCars does not do this work itself and works only in the Toronto area. What it involves: Repairs and maintenance by a mechanic at a trusted shop we arrange, not by CarmaCars. Regular maintenance keeps small problems from turning into large ones.

Our part and the shop's part

You deal with the shop for the repair itself, and with us for the rental. We keep you posted until the shop has the car booked in. Tell us what you notice: the noise, the light on the dash, or the job you want done. If you already have a shop you trust, we can still rent you a car meanwhile.

Before the shop starts

Ask whether the quote includes both parts and labour. Keep the invoice; it is part of the car's service history. Ask for a written estimate before any work starts. Ask whether the shop needs your keys, the wheel lock key or the spare.

Car care, briefly

Have the battery tested before winter if it is more than a few years old. Have the cabin air filter changed on the maker's schedule. Do not ignore a warning light; an early check often costs less than a late repair.

Honest about distance

We do not have a location in Pointers; CarmaCars works out of Toronto. From central Toronto, Pointers is about 557 km away in a straight line; we deliver within about 80 km.

If we do not know a shop in Pointers, we say so rather than guess. For work in Pointers, ask in a request and we tell you honestly whether we know a shop there. If you still want to ask about Pointers, send a request; we would rather say no than overpromise. Note that our prices are shown in Canadian dollars.

Ready when you are

Send a request: the car, the problem and when suits you.
