The 2021 Hyundai Tucson Ultimate for buyers

CarmaCars is a rental company and does not have the 2021 Hyundai Tucson Ultimate for sale right now. Rent one for a week first, or ask us to look for one. Here is the 2021 Hyundai Tucson Ultimate for buyers: fuel use, size, recalls and a test drive that lasts a week.

What to check on the Tucson

Look at the tires, brakes and battery; they are costly to replace. Have a mechanic inspect a used one before you buy it. In Ontario, a used car needs a Safety Standards Certificate to be registered. A private seller in Ontario must give you a Used Vehicle Information Package.

    What the specs mean

The 2.0L 4-cylinder is what moves it, with front-wheel drive. It runs on regular gas. Front-wheel drive is the usual layout for cars this size, predictable in the rain and the snow.

A combined rating of 9.5 L/100 km works out to about 29 litres per 300 km. The fuel for 100 km comes to about $14.73 at our price setting. At US fuel prices, the EPA estimates US$2,700 a year for 15,000 miles.

    Who rents the Tucson

It suits a family trip where everyone and everything fits in one car. It suits a stretch between cars, by the week or the month.

    The Tucson in everyday use

Its SUV body gives a high seating position and an easy load height.

Drive it on your own roads

Rent first, buy later: a week with the Tucson answers the big questions. A test week in the Tucson tells you more than any review. Try the Tucson on your commute, then decide.

    Narrowing it down

If two trims share a powertrain, the difference is equipment, which you can check in person. Set a budget that includes tax, licensing, insurance and the first set of tires. Decide what matters most first: fuel use, space, or the price you can pay.

    Running costs

Get an insurance quote for this exact model before you buy; rates differ a lot between models. At our price setting, 100 km costs about $14.73 in fuel. A 1,000 km month costs roughly $147.30 at our price setting.

    Edificios and the Tucson

If you are starting from Toronto, rent the car here and drive it to Edificios. CarmaCars is based in Toronto, about 3,316 km from Edificios, and does not deliver there.
