Thinking of buying the 2021 Hyundai Tucson Ultimate?

We rent cars and sell one only now and then. There is no 2021 Hyundai Tucson Ultimate for sale by us right now. For anyone shopping for the 2021 Hyundai Tucson Ultimate, here are the facts that matter.

What to check on the Tucson

Check whether every recall was done, by the VIN, before you pay. Ask the seller for the service records of this exact car. A pre-purchase inspection at a shop you choose is money well spent. Look at the tires, brakes and battery; they are costly to replace.

    Reading the spec sheet

The engine is the 2.0L 4-cylinder, with front-wheel drive and a 6-speed automatic. It runs on regular gas. Front-wheel drive is the usual layout for cars this size, predictable in the rain and the snow.

Rated at 9.5 L/100 km combined, it needs around 29 litres for a 300 km round trip. A 300 km weekend costs about $44.19 in energy at our price setting. EPA puts its fuel cost at US$2,700 a year for 15,000 miles at US prices.

    How big it is

Being a compact SUV, it handles luggage, strollers and sports gear well.

Is it right for your trip?

It suits a weekend away when the train does not reach where you are going. It suits a stretch between cars, by the week or the month.

Drive it on your own roads

Rent it, live with it for a week, and decide with real experience. Nothing is charged until we confirm the rental and you approve the offer. Renting first costs a fraction of the price of buying the wrong car.

    The cost of driving it

The EPA estimates US$2,700 a year in fuel for 15,000 miles at US prices. Get an insurance quote for this exact model before you buy; rates differ a lot between models. A 1,000 km month costs roughly $147.30 at our price setting.

    Which one to look for

Decide what matters most first: fuel use, space, or the price you can pay. Look at a few listings of the same year and trim to get a feel for fair prices. A newer year is not always better; check what changed before paying more for it.

    Edificios and the Tucson
