Certified Pre-Owned in Berkeley, CA

Before you buy in Berkeley

To be upfront: CarmaCars is a rental company and does not sell cars or arrange loans. We are happy to point you in the right direction, and to rent you a similar car to try. Shop for the car anywhere you like, and rent the same model from us first if we have it.

A test drive that lasts

A rental shows you the small things: the seat after an hour, the blind spots, the trunk with your stroller in it. If you are torn between two models, rent one, then the other. Renting the model you are thinking of buying, for a day or a week, is a real test drive on your own roads.

Checks worth doing

A Safety Standards Certificate is needed in Ontario to register a used car you buy. For a used car, ask for the vehicle's service records and look up its recall history by the VIN. Check the date on the tires and the condition of the brakes. Look for rust under the doors and around the wheel arches.

Between cars

A rental means you never have to rush a purchase because you need wheels. Use a rental to try a different kind of car before you commit to one. Waiting for a car on order? A monthly rental covers the wait, up to 365 days a booking.
