Trade In in Berkeley, CA

Before you buy in Berkeley

We are a rental company, not a dealer or a lender, and this page explains how renting can help a buyer. We do not buy cars or take trade-ins. If you would rather keep your car and have it earn, our owner program rents it out for you. Between cars? Rent one by the week or the month while you decide what to do with yours.

Try it for a week first

Testing the car for a week shows how it handles your parking, your passengers and your bags. A rental lets you judge fuel use for yourself, on your own routes. Try the car with the people who will ride in it most.

Checks worth doing

For a used car, ask for the vehicle's service records and look up its recall history by the VIN. Compare the total cost, not only the monthly payment: interest, fees and insurance add up. Measure your parking spot or garage before you fall for a bigger car. Read the contract before you sign, and ask about every fee you do not understand.

Between cars

A monthly rental keeps life moving while your financing is sorted out elsewhere. Selling privately can take time; a rental means no rush. Sold your car already? Rent by the week while you shop for the next one.

A note on distance

We do not have a location in Berkeley; CarmaCars works out of Toronto. We cover about 80 km around Toronto; at about 3,628 km, Berkeley is outside that.

Shopping in Berkeley? A rental from Toronto only makes sense if your trip starts here. If you move to the Toronto area, renting the car you want to buy is easy. If you are unsure whether we can help with Berkeley, ask; we answer plainly. All prices are in Canadian dollars.
