Buying a car in Ruby

Here is the honest answer for buyers: CarmaCars rents cars and does not sell them. A lease ties you to years of payments; a monthly rental can stop at the end of any booking, with no buyout. A lease takeover or a new lease takes time to arrange; a monthly rental can cover that time.

Try it for a week first

A rental lets you judge fuel use for yourself, on your own routes. Bring the car seat, the hockey bag or the dog, and see if it all fits. Rent for a weekend to answer the big question: is this the right car?

Before you sign

A Safety Standards Certificate is needed in Ontario to register a used car you buy. Have a mechanic inspect a used car before you buy it, at a shop you choose. Check the date on the tires and the condition of the brakes. Compare the total cost, not only the monthly payment: interest, fees and insurance add up.

While you shop

Selling privately can take time; a rental means no rush. Sold your car already? Rent by the week while you shop for the next one. A monthly rental keeps life moving while your financing is sorted out elsewhere.
