Renting in Pointer

Courtesy Car in Pointer: CarmaCars is a Toronto company, so here is what we can and cannot do. A car while yours is off the road, rented by the day or the week. After a collision, your insurer may pay when your adjuster approves the rental, and we can bill them directly. Every car on the site shows its own rates, deposit and kilometres included.

The short answer for Pointer

Pointer is not an area we serve directly. CarmaCars is based in Toronto. Pointer is about 871 km from our location in Toronto in a straight line, beyond the 250 km we deliver to.

If you live in the Toronto area and need a car for a trip to Pointer, we can help with that. Driving out of Ontario is possible only with our written consent, given before the trip. Send a request about Pointer, and we reply with a clear yes or no. Prices here are in Canadian dollars, not US dollars.

Who rents from us

Drivers who want to try a different kind of car for a week. People whose plans changed and need a car on short notice.

Worth knowing

Tell us the claim number and the adjuster in your request if the rental is part of a claim. After a collision, your insurer may pay for the rental when your adjuster approves it. Otherwise the car's own rate applies. A request is free and commits you to nothing. A person reads each request and answers it, by email and in your account.

What to have ready

We rent to drivers aged 18 and up who hold an Ontario G2 or G licence. The daily young driver fee is shown on each car's page, for drivers under 26. The card you pay with must be yours, and you bring it to the handover.

You need one of three things in place for damage to the car: OPCF 27 on your own policy, a credit card that covers rentals, or the CarmaCars Protection Plan. A deposit is held before each rental; the amount is on the car's page. Extra drivers are welcome; each one is checked and signs the agreement.

The steps

The first step is a free request: which car, which dates, and how you want to get it. You get an offer that says exactly what the rental costs before tax. Pay when you approve, not a minute before.

Every car on the site has a page of its own, with its calendar and its rates. The monthly rate covers a booking of up to 365 days. A pickup can be as soon as 2 hours after your request, when the car is free.

Your move

Send your dates and we will reply with a car and a price.
