Courtesy Car in Ruby, explained

This page is for Ruby, but CarmaCars rents from Toronto. Here is the plain answer. Here is the short version: A car while yours is off the road, rented by the day or the week. After a collision, your insurer may pay when your adjuster approves the rental, and we can bill them directly. A request does not hold the car, and it costs nothing to send.

Toronto based

Straight answer: there is no CarmaCars location in Ruby. We rent from Toronto. Delivery covers about 250 km around Toronto; Ruby is about 1,497 km away.

Visiting Toronto from Ruby? We can meet you with a car when you arrive. Because Ruby is outside Ontario, the trip needs our written consent first. If you still want to ask about Ruby, send a request; we would rather say no than overpromise. Prices on this site are in Canadian dollars.

Why CarmaCars

Tell us the claim number and the adjuster in your request if the rental is part of a claim. When your adjuster approves a rental, we can bill your insurance company directly, and we deliver the car to you. The offer is in writing, so you can check it before you agree. Prices are shown car by car, and the offer lists every charge.

Riverside Park, Twin Oaks Mobile Park and Grover are the neighbouring places on our list.

The closest airport is Lincoln Municipal Airport, about 27 km away.

Who rents from us

People waiting on a repair, a claim or a car purchase rent until theirs is back. People whose plans changed and need a car on short notice.

Renting: the basics

We need every driver to be at least 18, with an Ontario G2 or G licence. Drivers under 26 pay a young driver fee for each day, shown on each car's page. Bring a card in your name; a card in someone else's name cannot be used.

Third-party liability is in the rate; for the car, bring OPCF 27, use your card's benefit, or add the CarmaCars Protection Plan. There is a deposit for each rental, taken shortly before pickup rather than at booking. We check your licence and identity before we confirm, the same way for every renter.

Booking in plain terms

Send the request with your dates first; no money changes hands at that stage. The offer we send lists the car we confirm and the full price. You pay when you approve, and only then.

The photos on a car's page are of that car. Need it longer than 365 days? Renew with a new agreement when the booking ends. We need at least 2 hours of notice before a pickup.
