The 2016 Lexus LS, explained
Looking at the 2016 Lexus LS? Start with its powertrains and fuel use.
Under the hood
Power comes from the 5.0L 8-cylinder hybrid, driving through an automatic (CVT). It is a hybrid: the battery charges itself as you drive and brake, so there is nothing to plug in. All-wheel drive helps when pulling away on snow; braking and steering still depend on the tires. The gearbox is a continuously variable automatic, so there are no gear changes to feel.
For 300 km of mixed driving, expect about 35 litres, from its 11.5 L/100 km rating. It uses 12.7 L/100 km in the city and 10.1 on the highway, by its rating. A 300 km round trip costs roughly $53.49 at our price setting.
Taking it further
Return the car with the fuel it had at pickup, or a fee applies. Each car shows the kilometres included each day and the rate for extra ones. A long weekend away is easy to price with the figures on this page.
Space, size and seats
As a mid-size car, it has a closed trunk that keeps luggage out of sight. Its 283 litre trunk is enough for about two large suitcases and a few soft bags.
Who rents the LS
It suits people curious about the model who want to drive it before they buy. It suits client visits, weddings and special weekends. Its all-wheel drive suits winter roads and trips to ski country.
Renting the LS from CarmaCars
Put this car and your dates in a request, and we reply with an offer. None in our fleet right now; ask and we look for one for your dates. Meanwhile, 6 similar cars are listed below. Delivery starts at $75 plus distance; collecting the car yourself is free.
Before you rent
Drivers 18 and older can rent with a valid Ontario G2 or G licence. From 26, no age fee applies; below it, a daily young driver fee does. The payment card and the licence must match the driver's name.
Three options cover damage to the car: OPCF 27 on your auto policy, a credit card with rental car benefits, or the CarmaCars Protection Plan. Your deposit is held for the rental and released after the car comes back and is checked. A quick licence and identity check happens before we confirm any booking.
How it works
Requests are free: choose a car, add your dates, and send it. A real person reviews your request and sends an offer with the price spelled out. Only an approved, paid offer books the car.
You can check any car's calendar before you send a request. From 7 days, the weekly rate applies; up to 365 days, a trip never costs more than the monthly rate. We need at least 2 hours of notice before a pickup.
Let us know
Look through the cars, choose one, and send a request when it suits you.
