Specs, explained
The EPA does not rate this model year for fuel use; heavier trucks and vans are often not rated.
Living with the MX-5
Low and compact, it is a car for the drive more than the cargo.
Best uses
It suits a summer weekend or a special occasion more than a move. It suits a work trip where a reliable car matters more than anything else. It suits anyone who needs a car for a few days, a week or a month without buying one.
Out of town
A long weekend away is easy to price with the figures on this page. Each car shows the kilometres included each day and the rate for extra ones. For a trip out of Ontario, ask first: it needs our written consent.
Renting it
Tell us your dates and we check this car or the closest match. None in our fleet right now; ask and we look for one for your dates. Similar cars are listed below if you need one now. Delivery and pickup are both options across the Toronto area.
Who can rent
Ontario G2 or G licence holders aged 18 and up can request a car. The daily young driver fee is shown on each car's page, for drivers under 26. At pickup, have your original licence and the payment card ready.
Third-party liability is in the rate; for the car, bring OPCF 27, use your card's benefit, or add the CarmaCars Protection Plan. Your deposit is held about 1 hour ahead of pickup and released after the return. If another person will drive, add them; they go through the same check.
Requesting a car
A request is free and takes a few minutes: the car, your dates, and pickup or delivery. The offer we send lists the car we confirm and the full price. Nothing is charged until you approve it and pay.
Compare cars side by side by opening their pages. Short trips and long stays use the same request; the rate follows the length. Last-minute plans are fine with at least 2 hours of notice.
Your move
The quickest way to a price is a request with your dates. It costs nothing.

Renting the 2003 Mazda MX-5
Can I rent a 2003 Mazda MX-5 in Toronto?
Not from our fleet right now. Send a request for this exact car and we look for one for your dates. Meanwhile 6 similar cars are available below.
How old do I need to be to rent?
18 or older at pickup, with an Ontario G2 or G licence valid for the whole rental. Drivers aged 18 to 20 pay a young driver fee of $35 a day, and 21 to 25 pay $20 a day.
How much is the deposit?
Between $500 and $5,000, depending on the car. It is taken about 1 hour before pickup, never when you book, and the balance is released within 7 business days after you return the car.
What coverage do I need?
Third-party liability is included in the rate. For damage to the car itself, have your own policy (OPCF 27), a credit card with rental car coverage, or add the CarmaCars Protection Plan, priced in your offer by car and driver age. At $2,500 or more we claim on our fleet policy and you pay the $2,500 deductible.
Can the car be delivered?
Yes, anywhere, including Toronto Pearson International Airport and Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport. Delivery starts at $75 plus the distance from our location, priced in your offer. Collecting the car yourself is free.
