About the 2012 Mazda MX-5
Everything we can source about the 2012 Mazda MX-5 is on this page.
The numbers in plain words
Under the hood: the 2.0L 4-cylinder and rear-wheel drive. It calls for premium gas, which costs more a litre than regular. Rear-wheel drive gives balanced handling; in winter, the tires make the biggest difference. It has a manual gearbox, so you need to be comfortable with a clutch.
The combined figure, 9.7 L/100 km, means roughly 29 litres for 300 km. It uses 10.5 L/100 km in the city and 8.6 on the highway, by its rating. Every 100 km costs about $16.97 in fuel at our price setting. We count premium at $1.75 a litre for the cost figures on this page.
Trips in the MX-5
A long weekend away is easy to price with the figures on this page. For a trip out of Ontario, ask first: it needs our written consent. Each car shows the kilometres included each day and the rate for extra ones.
The MX-5 in everyday use
As a two-seat sports car, it puts the driving first and the luggage second.
Good uses for the MX-5
It suits someone whose own car is in the shop for a while. It suits a family trip where everyone and everything fits in one car. It suits a weekend away when the train does not reach where you are going.
In our fleet
Similar cars are below if you need one sooner. None in our fleet right now; ask and we look for one for your dates. Your request can name this exact car; the offer confirms what we can give you. Collect the car at our location for free, or have it delivered.
What happens when you ask for a car
Booking is by request, never instant. You send the car and the dates, and a person at CarmaCars reviews it. A staff member reads the request and sends the offer. We reply within 2 hours. The car is yours for those dates once you approve and pay the offer.
Rates are set car by car and shown on each car's page. From 7 days, the weekly rate takes over. At least 2 hours must separate the request from the pickup.
Driver requirements
Drivers 18 and older can rent with a valid Ontario G2 or G licence. Under 26, a young driver fee applies for each day of the rental. The card must be in the driver's name, and we check it with the licence in person.
Third-party liability comes with every rate. For the car itself: your own policy with OPCF 27, a card that covers rentals, or the CarmaCars Protection Plan. The deposit is released after the return, once the car is checked. Every renter goes through the same check of licence and identity before the car is confirmed.
Questions first?
A request costs nothing, and the offer tells you everything.
