Buy a Car in Basic

CarmaCars does not sell cars or arrange loans; we rent cars, which helps when you are deciding. A rental of the same model for a week shows how it fits your commute, your parking and your family. Tell us the car you are looking for and we will help where we can, and you can rent a similar car first.

Try it for a week first

A rental shows you the small things: the seat after an hour, the blind spots, the trunk with your stroller in it. Renting the model you are thinking of buying, for a day or a week, is a real test drive on your own roads. Many buyers rent the car they are considering for a weekend before they visit a dealer.

Buying smart in Ontario

Ask your insurer for a quote on the exact model before you commit. Read the contract before you sign, and ask about every fee you do not understand. For a used car, ask for the vehicle's service records and look up its recall history by the VIN. Ask for a test drive on the highway as well as in town.

Before your next car arrives

You can switch to a different car at the end of a booking, which helps if you are comparing. Renting while you shop lets you compare cars without pressure. Between selling and buying, a weekly rental keeps the commute normal.

Honest about distance

We are based in Toronto; Basic is not somewhere we have a location. Our delivery area ends about 80 km from Toronto, and Basic is about 3,233 km out.

Our rentals start and end around Toronto; a test week has to begin there. Shopping in Basic? A rental from Toronto only makes sense if your trip starts here. Still have a question about Basic? Ask in a request, and we answer plainly. Note that our prices are shown in Canadian dollars.
